Frida Escobedo

The other "Frida" from Mexico! Like its namesake, architect Frida Escobedo gained international fame from a young age. At just 24 years old, she built the Casa Negra, a house built on stilts, one of the cardinal points of modern architecture according to Le Corbusier, and inspired by the darkroom principle. This achievement earned him the recognition of the profession. Having cut his teeth in design school of Harvard, Escobedo develops a 360-degree practice, spanning all areas of architecture and design.
She presents her work as a designer within the team
Masa and collaborates with brands or institutions, such as Aesop or MoMA PS1 in New York. At 39, she becomes
the youngest architect to erect the summer pavilion of the Serpentine Gallery, which each year invites a renowned architect to build a pavilion in Kensington Gardens in London.
Her predecessors having had this honor are Zaha Hadid, Oscar Niemeyer, Frank Gehry or the artist Olafur Eliasson. At 42 years old today, Escobedo continues to write her story to join these great names in the architectural pantheon.
